Funeral services for Robert Lee Stephens will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Community Lighthouse Church with Pastor Bill Taylor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

Robert Lee Stephens Sr., age 78, of Skiatook, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa.

Robert was born August 2, 1938 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to William Lee and Mary (McClain) Stephens. Robert grew up and received his education in Tulsa. Robert also served in the United States Marine Corp where he served his country proudly. Robert married Mary Jane Murch on April 29, 1971 in Kerman, California and have made their home in Skiatook since 1992. Robert was a self-employed painter and had also worked security or the past 17 years. Robert was a member of the Community Lighthouse Church and AARP.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother and father, 2 brothers, 1 sister and by 1 daughter Kimberly Denise.

Robert is survived by his wife: Mary of the home, children: Robert Lee Stephens Jr., David Lee Stephens, Lisa Sue Michael, Debra Ann Cruse, Denise Renee Stephens and Michael Edward Stephens, 2 foster children: Nicholas Penera and Jauni Coonie, 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Music for the services will be: “Amazing Grace”, “There Will Be peace In The Valley” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.

Casket escorts for the services are: Charles White, Emmitt Douglas, Justin Washington, Ralph Williams, Cliff Groom and Adam Richard.

The family of Robert Lee Stephens entrusted his care and services to Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
