Memorial services for Carol Joyce Makinson will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2017 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel.

Carol Makinson, age 71, of Skiatook, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 at the St. John Medical center in Tulsa.

Carol was born August 5, 1946 in Le Mars, Iowa to Carl Richard and Vera Elanore (Hendrickson) Petersen. Carol grew up and received her education in Marcus, Iowa. Carol married Robert Kriege in May of 1963. Carol later married Ernie Makinson in 2003. Carol was employed with various nursing homes where she was in patient care. Carol enjoyed painting, crafting, sewing, making cornhusk dolls and restoring antiques.

Carol was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Ernie, one sister and one grandson: Jeremey Holt.

Carol is survived by four children: Rick Kriege, Lisa Gilmartin, Lori Dodson and Angie Boswell, 13 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two sisters: Marilyn Kruse and Connie Wright, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Music for the services will be: “Amazing Grace” and “How Great thou Art”.

The family of Carol Joyce Makinson entrusted her care and services to Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
