Funeral services for Dorlean Bearden will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the Skiatook Church of Nazarene with Pastor Jesse Madaffari officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

Dorlean Bearden, age 93, of Skiatook, passed away Monday, April 22, 2019 at Clare House in Tulsa.

Dorlean was born November 8, 1925 in Skiatook, Oklahoma to Virgil and May Shelton. She grew up and received her education in Skiatook. She married Everett Lloyd Bearden on April 6, 1946. They had one son Michael Everett Bearden. They made their home in Skiatook, Oklahoma. Dorlean was a homemaker and helped in her church. She walked around Skiatook with friends and picked up aluminum cans to help her church. She was a waitress at Kress’s and worked in a factory in Kansas City separating eggs. She was a Cub Scout leader and a member of the Skiatook Church of Nazarene. She also was active in Tops (weight loss), exercise class, and swimming class. When she could, she and her family would go camping and fishing. She also loved sewing and crocheting and making pot scrapers.

Dorlean was preceded in death by her mother and father: May and Virgil, her husband: Everett, son: Mike, Brothers: Kenneth Shelton and George Shelton, and sisters: LaQuita Gaffney and Nancy Middleton.

Dorlean is survived by her brothers and sisters: Calvin Shelton, Peggy Killion, Cub Shelton, Vi Nail, Hope Flatt, Joyce Barlow, Clifton Shelton, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers for the services will be: Jameson Buntin, Clayton Shelton, Paul Shelton, Curtis Carter, Virgil Mitchell, and Jesse Buntin. Honorary Pallbearers: Danny Barlow, Steve Barlow and Scotty Buntin.

The family of Dorlean Bearden have entrusted her care and services to the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
