Funeral services for Dorothy Jean Ervin will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018 at the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Jimmy Carnie officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

Dorothy Ervin, age 87, of Skiatook, passed away at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in Skiatook.

Dorothy was born September 10, 1931 in Owasso, Oklahoma to Ralph “Buck” and Lois Marie (Hutcherson) Monroe. She grew up, received her education, and graduated in Collinsville, Oklahoma. She later married Oliver Dearl Ervin. She was a secretary for CRC Crose Pipeline for 20 years and worked for Claremore Tag Agency for 10 years. Dorothy liked cooking, working in the yard, spending time watching birds and wildlife and she loved coffee and reading her Bible. She was a solo gospel singer and a member of the Amazing Grace Tabernacle.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her father and mother: Ralph and Lois, husband: Oliver, Sister: Sue Madewell, half- brother: Jerry Rucks, grandson: J.D. Ervin and great grandchildren: Carlie Rae McClain, and Jordan Duncan.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Rhonda (Ervin) Reeder, Dearl Wayne Ervin, and Roger Dean Ervin, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Music for the services will be: “I’ve Never Been So Homesick Before”, “God Is Real”, and “Amazing Grace”.

Pallbearers for the services will be: Brandon Williams, Keith Nicholson, John Stout, Rick Bishop, Justin Ervin, Brandon Reeder and Jim Stout.

The family of Dorothy Ervin entrusted her care and services to the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
