Duane Paul Holcomb
Funeral services for Duane Paul Holcomb will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Avant with Pastor Kent Simpson officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton funeral Home.
Duane was born September 23, 1929 in Sperry, Oklahoma to Herbert Allen and M.E. (Cadenhead) Holcomb. Duane grew up and received his education in Sand Springs where he graduated in 1948. Duane entered into the United States navy in 1948 and received his honorable discharge in 1952. Duane married Helen Emery on April 24, 1954 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas making their home in Collinsville, Sand Springs and moved to Skiatook in 1977. Duane was self-employed in the oil and gas business. Duane liked playing music, collected antique tools, riding horses, sports, was a golden glove boxer, ran track and field and excelled in football in high school and in the U.S. Navy.
Duane was preceded in death by his mother and father, wife Helen, Daughter: Glenda, 2 brothers, and by 2 sisters.
Duane is survived by his children: John Holcomb, Linda Johnson, Brenda Martin, Duane Holcomb Jr. and Joel Holcomb, 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music for the services will be: “Precious Memories” and “How Great thou Art” performed by: Joel Holcomb and Faron Charles.
Pallbearers for the services will be: Sean Holcomb, Ryan Holcomb, Keith Holcomb, Dustin Thennes Ethan Holcomb and Chad Sellers.
The family of Duane Holcomb entrusted his care and services to the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
