Roger William Upton
Celebration of Life service for Roger William Upton will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2019 at the First Baptist Church West Rogers Campus with Rev. Heath Tucker and close friend Bryan Binkley officiating.
Roger William Upton, age 55, of Skiatook passed away surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at his Skiatook residence.
Roger was born July 9, 1964 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Boyd and Anne (White) Upton. Roger grew up and received his education in Tulsa where he graduated from Nathan Hale in 1982. Roger also attended Southern Nazarene University where he graduated in 1995. Roger married Stephanie Day on May 13, 1989 in Tulsa making their home in Broken Arrow until moving to Skiatook in 2000. Roger was employed with Warren Petroleum from 1984 to 1996, World Com from 1996 to 2001 and Windstream from 2001 to 2019. Roger loved to go fishing, playing golf and cook. Roger was Little League Baseball Coach, Football Coach where he served as President and Past President of the Skiatook Quarterback Club. Roger served on the Skiatook City Council from 2016 to 2019 where he was currently the Mayor of Skiatook.
Roger was preceded in death by his grandparents; Bill and Mary Upton and Willa Mae White.
Roger is survived by his wife of 30 years Stephanie, sons; Austin Upton and his wife Kassidi and Stephen Upton, his father and mother; Boyd and Anne Upton, sisters; Rhonda Reidy and husband Joe and Tracy Barker and husband Steve, niece Sara Gaudet and husband Cameron, nephews; Mason and Michael Barker, father-in-law Joe Day and wife Paula, mother-in-law; Barbara Kimes and husband Dan, lifelong friends Bryan and Robin Binkley and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in the memory of Roger Upton. Those who wish to contribute in his memory may do so to the RCB Bank College Fund for his sons. You may contribute by sending the memorial donations to the bank or you may go to any of the RCB Banks locations.
