Betty Laverne (McGlaughlin) Hansen, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. She was born on August 3, 1943, in Avant, Oklahoma, and her life was a testament to love, dedication, and family.

Betty grew up in Avant, where she received her education and began nurturing the qualities of warmth, kindness, and determination that would define her throughout her life. On April 9, 1971, she married James Ray Hansen in her hometown of Avant. Together, Betty and James built a beautiful life, first making their home in Tulsa and eventually settling in Sand Springs in 1977. Their enduring partnership was filled with shared adventures, laughter, and mutual support.

Professionally, Betty worked as a computer operator, where her diligence and reliability made her a valued member of her team. Outside of her career, Betty found joy in the simple pleasures of life—traveling with James in their RV, spending cherished time visiting with both her and James’s family, and attending frequent family gatherings that brought all generations together. Betty was compassionate and helpful to her sisters in their time of need as well as taking great care for her mother-in-law, Frances in her final years.

Betty’s greatest pride and love was her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, James Ray Hansen, who was her loving companion for over five decades. She leaves behind her daughter, Jennifer Aaron, and her beloved grandchildren, Chandler Hansen and wife Taylor and Connor Aaron. The happiness of seeing her family grow also included her treasured great-granddaughters, Jordan and Jamie. She is also survived by her sister, Lena Holland and husband Jim Holland, whose bond she held dear, along with a multitude of nieces and nephews. Each of these relationships reflected Betty’s joy in connection, her nurturing spirit, and her commitment to those she loved.

In her passing, Betty is reunited with her parents, Ben and Netta McGlaughlin, as well as her siblings Mary Jo Eldridge and husband Leon, Alta Rudluff and husband Jimmy, Ruth Morris and husband Reat, Jean Ervin, Darlene Whitfield and husband Don, Sandra Pointer and husband Wayne, Bob McGlaughlin and wife Ruth, and Smokey McGlaughlin, whose memories she always cherished.

Betty’s legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched, the memories she created on family trips and gatherings, and the steadfast love she offered so freely. Her gentle spirit and devotion to family will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Betty Laverne Hansen’s life was a gift to her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration, a reminder of a life lived with elegance, love, and grace.
