Betty Jean Phillips, born on August 20, 1941, to Leo and Ethal Salkil, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, peacefully departed this life on May 29, 2025, in Jenks, Oklahoma. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Betty leaves behind a rich legacy that reflects her lifelong dedication to family, faith, and service.

Betty grew up in Barnsdall, Oklahoma, where she received her education and graduated from Barnsdall High School. Following her high school years, she attended Tulsa Junior College, further cultivating her passion for helping others. This dedication led her to career as a respiratory therapist at Hillcrest Medical Center, a role she cherished until her retirement in 2006.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Betty always considered the Barnsdall Assembly of God her home church, where her faith served as a cornerstone of her life. Her warmth and kindness extended into her community, where she made lasting connections with those around her.

Betty's joys were found in simple pleasures; she loved taking road trips, crafting jewelry, and passionately cheering for her grandchildren at their various sporting events. Her enthusiasm and support brought smiles to their faces and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Betty also had a penchant for collecting, which filled her life with treasured memories and stories.

She is survived by her children, Angela and Phil Capehart, Deborah and Gary Allen, John and Carrie Phillips; her siblings, Terry and Billie Salkil, Ina Gardner, Pat McCullough, and Faye Salkil; her adoring grandchildren, Stephanie and Josh James , Lucas Harris, Kyle and Deleana Allen, Cody and Chelsea Allen, Colton and Shelby Allen, Ashley and Bobby Mathis, Morgan Phillips, Quinn Phillips, Erin Burwell, Kelsey and Gabby Beaman, and Josie and Brendon Williamson; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Hunter Degraffenreid, Tennessee James, Callea Allen, Bryer Allen, Easton Allen, Savannah Adamson, Trey Taylor, Shiann Taylor, Sterling Allen, Wylie Allen, Preston Mathis, and Norman Burwell, great-great-grandchild: Leslie Lee Taylor-Butler.

Betty is reunited in eternity with her beloved husband, John Ray Phillips; her parents, Leo and Ethal Salkil; one unborn child, her brother, Jack Salkil; and brothers-in-law, Alvin McCullough and Wayne Gardner.

A reflection of her vibrant spirit and loving nature, Betty Jean Phillips will be dearly missed yet fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched. Her legacy of love, faith, and commitment to family will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
