Bill DeWayne Gaddy, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, in Skiatook, Oklahoma. He was 72 years old.
Born on May 12, 1954, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Robert Thomas and Ila Gwendolyn (LeMaster) Gaddy, Bill’s roots ran deep in the Oklahoma soil. He spent his formative years in Skiatook, where he received his education and graduated in the proud class of 1972. From a young age, Bill displayed a steadfast work ethic, warm-heartedness, and a genuine love for his community.
Upon graduating, Bill dedicated himself to a long and successful career, working with Local 592 Boilermakers for over 30 years. His commitment, integrity, and strong spirit left a lasting impact on colleagues and friends alike. When he retired, he took with him not only decades of experience but also cherished friendships and memories from his years in the trade.
Bill’s life was rich and full. He had an adventurous soul—he found joy in riding motorcycles, relished the rhythms of Blues music, and sought out new places and experiences with a zest for traveling. There was a simple philosophy that guided him: to live life to the fullest. Those who knew Bill will remember his infectious enthusiasm, his ready smile, and the love he poured into every endeavor.
He was the cherished husband of Brenda Gaddy, being married February 13, 2023 in Skiatook where they made their home. Bill’s legacy continues through his sons, Jeremy Gaddy and Nathan Gaddy, and their wives, Rebecca and Claudia, who mourn the loss of his steady guidance and gentle humor. His brothers, Scott Gaddy and Greg Gaddy, also grieve the passing of not just a sibling but a lifelong friend and confidant.
Bill’s extended family includes grandchildren, as well as beloved nieces, nephews, and other dear relatives whose lives he touched in quiet but deeply meaningful ways. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Gaddy; his mother, Ila Gaddy; and his brother, Jackie Gaddy.
