Bonnie Lou Williams, a beloved wife, sister, and friend, passed away on April 25, 2025, at the Ignite Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, at the age of 91. Born on September 6, 1933, in Avant, Oklahoma to Oral and Gertrude (Turnbull) Landis,
Bonnie's life was marked by her unwavering love for family and her dedication to her work and community. For 17 years, Bonnie served as a bookkeeper for the Collinsville Sale Barn, where her skills were invaluable. Together with her husband, James F. (Jim) Williams, she also engaged in hauling cattle for customers, showcasing their strong partnership anchored in both love and shared endeavors. Bonnie’s commitment to her work was paralleled by her deep affection for her family, and she embraced every moment of her life with warmth and joy. Bonnie was a proud graduate of Avant High School, having walked miles along the railroad tracks and crossed the Bird Creek footbridge to catch the bus to school, a testament to her resilience and determination. Throughout her life, she displayed a vibrant personality—she was a frisky fisty little lady who was loved by everyone she met. Her sharp wit and humor brought joy to those around her. In addition to her professional achievements, Bonnie was known for her artistic talents, particularly in sewing and quilting. She created many beautiful quilts that were cherished by friends and family alike, embodying her creativity and thoughtfulness. Her love for country music and children further highlighted her nurturing spirit. Bonnie's journey through life was filled with love and kindness, and her family and friends will cherish countless memories of her laughter and light.
leaves behind her brother, Joe Landis and wife Carolyn; sisters, Geraldine Eschbach, Norma Robinson and husband Lewis, and Cheryl Walker and husband Terry; as well as many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her.
She is preceded in death by her parents Oral and Gertrude Landis, husband of 63 years, James F. Williams, brothers Bill and Kenneth Landis, and sisters Alberta Landis and Juanita Hamil.
As we reflect on Bonnie's life, we celebrate the love and joy she shared and the impact she had on everyone she encountered. Her light will forever shine in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her soul rest in eternal peace, now walking the streets of gold with her Lord and Savior. Many thanks are extended to her family at Ignite Medical Center for their compassionate care since October 2021.
Visitation will be held Monday April 28, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends and Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday April 29, 2025 both in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Owasso.
