Clyde Merle Bowman

Clyde Merle Bowman passed from this life on Saturday, August 9, 2025, in Skiatook, Oklahoma, at the age of 90 years. He was born on February 27, 1935, in Atoka, Oklahoma to Roy Beahl Bowman and Reatha (Clawson) Bowman and was raised in the Drumright, Oklahoma area.

Clyde served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Nine, from February 1954 to December 1957. This chapter of his life was a source of pride and shaped his values, which he carried into his career and family life.

Clyde was self-employed as a carpet layer, where his expertise and dedication made him a sought-after tradesman. His work reflected not only skill but also an unwavering commitment to quality, which endeared him to many clients and colleagues throughout his career.

On May 27, 1983, Clyde married Emma Lee (Wilson) Bowman in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple shared their lives until Emma’s passing in 2024. During their 40 plus years of marriage, they enjoyed many adventures, attending church, going to garage sales and auctions and having their famous yard sales.

Loved ones he leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include his two daughters, Clydeen Lowman and husband, Gary, Lisa Munyon and husband, Lance; stepson Marty McFee and wife, Penny; two step grandchildren Jesse McFee and Heather Adams and husband, Kevin; and three step great grandchildren Eva, Ansel, and Hadley. Clyde also leaves behind his brother, Wayne Bowman; many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Reatha Bowman, his beloved wife, Emma Lee Bowman and stepson Michael Marvin McFee. The loss of his brothers: Bobby, Tommy, Don, Medford, and James Bowman, along with his sister Betty Laipple, also leaves a poignant mark on the family.

Clyde Merle Bowman will be remembered for his kind heart, his strength both physical and spiritual, and the many stories he loved to share with those around him.
