Darrell Justin Macey, born on September 9, 1985, in Claremore, Oklahoma to Darrell Franklin and Mary Ella (Wood) Macey, passed away on July 15, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His life, though ending too soon at the age of 40, touched many and left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Darrell’s roots began in Claremore, where he was welcomed into the world by his loving parents. Throughout his life, family remained at the heart of everything he did. Darrell grew up and received his education in Collinsville. Darrell was a truckdriver for Brooks Grease until he became disabled.

Darrell is survived by his companion and mother to their children, Carissa Shaw; children, Elijah Macey and Layla Macey, his mother, Mary Macey and father Darrell Franklin Macey and DJ’s stepmother Sharon. He was a caring brother to Jennifer Marie Hahn, and though his sister, Heather Dawn Macey, preceded him in death, Darrell’s love for her remained steadfast.

Darrell found immense joy and purpose in being a father to his son, Elijah Macey, and his daughter, Layla Macey. His children were his pride, and he cherished each moment spent with them, nurturing their growth, sharing laughter, and creating memories that will forever be treasured in their hearts.

Darrell’s presence was characterized by quiet strength and unwavering kindness. To know him was to experience his generosity, his sense of humor, and his commitment to those he loved. His relationships with family and friends were marked by trust, loyalty, and open-heartedness.

Although his journey was met with challenges, Darrell faced life with resilience and grace. He valued the bond he shared with those closest to him. Whether in times of joy or adversity, Darrell offered steadfast support, leaving a legacy of compassion and understanding.

A Celebration of Life to honor Darrell Justin Macey will be held on July 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Collinsville Community Church, located at 1400 West Oak Street, Collinsville, Oklahoma. Family, friends, and all who wish to pay their respects are welcome to attend as we remember and celebrate Darrell’s life and the impact he had on each of us.

Darrell’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be remembered for his devotion, his gentle spirit, and the love he gave so freely.
