Born on October 7, 1941, in Dearing, Kansas to Cecil and Annetta (Dietz) Johnston, Doris was a proud graduate of Derby High School, where she completed her education in 1958.

Doris devoted 64 loving years to her husband, Larry E. Gibson, who preceded her in death in 2023. Their enduring partnership was a testament to their strong bond and shared commitment to family values, love, and loyalty. Together, they laid a foundation of warmth and care that will forever be cherished by their loved ones.

Throughout her career, Doris worked tirelessly as a secretary for Beech Aircraft, where her organizational skills and steadfast work ethic earned her the respect of her colleagues. She balanced her professional life with a nurturing spirit at home, embracing her role as a mother and grandmother wholeheartedly.

A woman of many interests, Doris found joy in going on walks, shopping, and nurturing her garden. These simple pleasures brought her happiness and connected her with the world around her, reflecting her vibrant and nurturing personality.

Doris is survived by her son, Gregg (Marilee) Gibson; her sister, Diana Meade; her brother, Cecil Johnston; two adoring grandchildren, Maci and Nathan; and a host of other relatives and friends who will continue to honor her memory. Her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Preceding her in death were her beloved parents, Cecil and Annetta Johnston, her husband Larry E. Gibson, and her sister, Carole Powell, who have welcomed her with open arms. Doris Gibson will be dearly missed, but her spirit will resonate through the stories and memories cherished by her family and friends.
