Eugene Mitchel Fritz, a beloved member of the Skiatook community, was born on July 26, 1927, in Skiatook, Oklahoma. A man of dedication and integrity, Eugene spent over 30 years as a self-employed drapery installer, earning the respect and admiration of those who knew his work. He was an integral part of the community, known for his craftsmanship and his commitment to providing for his family.
Eugene's roots were firmly planted in Skiatook, where he grew up and received his education. On August 25, 1946, he married Nadean Johnson in Skiatook. Together, they built a life filled with cherished memories. They raised their family and created a homestead that was a gathering place for family and friends. In 1976, they returned to Skiatook after a period in Tulsa, continuing their tradition of family closeness.
Throughout his life, Eugene found joy in various hobbies, including photography, traveling, and camping. However, nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with his family. He was proud of his lineage, which included his daughter, Teresa Mulkey, and her husband Benny, along with his five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. Eugene also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends who will remember him fondly.
Eugene was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nadean; his parents, Henry and Amanda (Holt) Fritz; his brother, Charles Fritz; and his daughter, Kathy Cupp. Each of these individuals held a special place in his heart, and their memories will continue to live on through the stories and love shared among his surviving family.
Eugene passed away on September 28, 2025, in Owasso, Oklahoma, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and devotion to family and faith. He was a member of the Skiatook First Baptist Church, where his contributions and faith were appreciated by many.
A graveside service will be held in his honor at Osage Gardens Cemetery in Skiatook, Oklahoma, on October 2, 2025. The service will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a time to remember the life and impact of Eugene Mitchel Fritz. His enduring spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
