Francine Kay Peach

Francine Kay Peach, a beloved member of her family and community, passed away on February 4, 2026, in Colcord, Oklahoma, just days before her 79th birthday. Born on February 9, 1947, in Watonga, Oklahoma, Francine's early life was rooted in the rich traditions of her heritage. She received her education at Riverside Indian School, which laid the foundation for her values and dedication towards family and community.

Francine devoted much of her working life to her role as a cook at Oklahoma University. Through her culinary skill, she nourished and brought joy to many students and staff with her delicious meals, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of tasting her cooking.

In her personal life, Francine was characterized by a vibrant spirit and a love for socializing. She enjoyed going out to eat and sharing good times, whether it was at a local restaurant or a trip to the casino. Francine also had a special fondness for attending Indian powwows, immersing herself in the cultural celebration. In quieter moments, she found joy in watching movies, often bringing friends and family together for a film night.

Her family was at the heart of her life. She is survived by her son, John James Peach, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Francine’s legacy is also marked by the love she shared with those who have passed before her, including her parents, Otis J. Coltz and Colleen (Shortnick) Coltz husband, James A. Peach III, her son, James "Jimmy" A. Peach IV, her daughter, Norma Kay Peach, and two beloved grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on February 9, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel, located at 1000 South Lombard Lane in Skiatook, Oklahoma. Her family invites all who knew Francine to celebrate her life and the indelible mark she left on the world. She will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered.
