George E. Prather III, known to many as ‘Yogi’, a dedicated and hardworking man who devoted over three decades of his life to the Orchids Paper Products Factory in Pryor, passed away on June 11, 2026, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Born on October 20, 1951, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to George Everts Prather Jr., and Opal Deloris (Smith) Prather, George's early years were rooted in Skiatook, where he grew up and completed his education, graduating in the class of 1969. George married Pamela Sue Barnard on June 29, 2016, in Miami, Oklahoma making their home in Locust Grove since that time.

Throughout his 74 years, George was known for his steadfast commitment to his work and his enduring loyalty to his community. His lengthy career at the Orchids Paper Product Factory is a testament to his strong work ethic and the respect he garnered from colleagues and friends alike. George loved to play volleyball, woodworking, playing golf and had a huge love for animals.

George was preceded in death by his beloved parents, George E. and Opal D. Prather, whose memory he cherished deeply, one sister, Sandra Deloris Prather and one nephew Bradley Dwaine Prather. He is survived by his devoted wife, Pamela Prather, who stood by his side through life's many chapters. Two children: Kelly Sanders and husband Kevin and Bumper Prather. George also has two grandchildren, Paige Copeland and Faith Sanders, who brought light and laughter into his later years.

His family circle extends to his brothers, Gayle Dwaine Prather and wife Melvina, and Timothy Jo Prather and wife Dixie, as well as several nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of relatives and friends who will remember him.
