Glenna Dale Long

Glenna Dale Long (Gigi), born Glenna Dale Beatty on August 29, 1929, in Turley, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, in Owasso, Oklahoma. Glenna’s life was marked by devotion to family, steadfast contributions to her church and community, and a deep-rooted faith that guided her through the years.

The daughter of Glenn F. Beatty and L. Bertha (Jones) Beatty, Glenna grew up in Turley, where she obtained her education, graduating from Central High School in May of 1947. Her formative years spent with her sister, mother, grandmother shaped her enduring values of hard work, kindness, and resilience, which she carried with her throughout her life.

Glenna married Ben Cooley in September of 1947 in her hometown of Turley. Together, they raised two hard-working sons. Later in life, she found love and companionship when she married J.B. Long on March 6, 1988, also in Turley. Both of her husbands, Ben Cooley and J.B. Long, preceded her in death, as did her parents and her dear sister, Maxine Capps, along with her brother-in-law, Paul Capps.

Throughout her career, Glenna distinguished herself with her commitment and professionalism. She faithfully served as the office manager for the Turley Water Office for 38 years. She worked alongside her sister Maxine, and then with her dear friend Risi Thelander, until she retired in 1995. In this role, she was known for her attentiveness, diligence, and genuine care for the people of Turley, the community she served for nearly four decades.

Beyond her professional life, Glenna cultivated a rich and fulfilling personal life. She found great joy in simple pleasures—playing cards, dominos, and participating in other games with friends and family. Bowling was a favorite pastime, one that she approached with both enthusiasm and friendly competition. With gifted hands, she created baby blankets, each stitch a testament to her warmth and generosity. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her regular attendance at church and participation in Bible Study, which were sources of strength and comfort to her.

Above all, Glenna cherished time spent with her family. She loved talking, eating, and simply being together with her loved ones, treasuring the laughter and stories they shared.

Glenna’s memory lives on through her devoted sons, Glenn Cooley and his wife Diana, and Dale Cooley and Patti Cooley. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Chris Cooley, Cara Lawson and husband, Kevin, Neil Cooley, and wife Dani. She was also blessed to have 2 extended grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, 2 nieces, Paula Capps Beasley and Cheryl Capps Roach, and their families. Each person in her family held a special place in her heart, remembered in her prayers daily.

Glenna Dale Long’s life was a tapestry of dedication, kindness, and unyielding spirit. She will be remembered for the many lives she touched, the friendships she treasured, and the family bonds she nurtured. Her gentle guidance and caring presence will be dearly missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire all those who knew Gigi.
