Iva Ruth Wilson
Funeral services for Iva Ruth Wilson were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2013 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Connie Cariker, officiating. Interment followed in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Iva Ruth Wilson, age 78, of Tulsa, died at 12:40 a.m. Monday, January 4, 2013 in the Manor Care Nursing Home in Tulsa.
Iva was born August 15, 1934 in Sperry, Oklahoma to Joseph Charlie and Addie Jane (Nichols) Hudson. She grew up and received her education in Sperry. Iva married Donald Eugene Wilson on July 27, 1951 in Arkansas and they made their home in Tulsa since that time. Iva was employed with Texaco where she worked with the cleaning crew. Iva had also been in employed with Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital in Tulsa where she worked in the housekeeping department. Iva liked to quilt, crochet, make dolls, work with plaster and do all sorts of arts and crafts. Iva was a member of the Sperry Alumni Association, Tulsa Gold Wing Motor Cycle Club and was a member of the West Tulsa Freewill Baptist Church.
Iva was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Donald, three sons Steve Wilson, Jerry Don Wilson and David Wilson, eleven brothers and sisters; Walton Hudson, Virgil Hudson, Verl Hudson, Rosie Coombes, Grover Hudson, Floyd Hudson, Lloyd Hudson, Ruby Caffey, Addie Mae Wilson, Lena Hudson and Estel Hudson.
Iva is survived by her daughter-in-law Kim Wilson of Owasso, grandson; Connor Wilson also of Owasso, granddaughter; Jessica Rodriquez of Tulsa, three great grandsons, one sister-in-law Bobbie Hudson, many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Casket escorts for the services were; Lloyd Hudson, Phillip Hudson, Donald Hudson, Cecil Hudson, Tony Hudson, Tommy Hudson.
Music for the services was: “Beulah Land” and “I’ll Have A New Life”. Pianist was: James Hudson and soloist were: Jim Hudson, Joe Coombes, Tommy Hudson and Debbie Hudson.
Funeral services and interment were under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
