Janice Anderson, a devoted attorney and small business owner, left this world on March 1, 2026, in Skiatook, Oklahoma. Born on September 4, 1951, in Anderson, Indiana to Reynale M. and Frances L (Hinkle) Anderson, Janice lived a life defined by her desire to read and learn about history and people and her deep love for family and friends.
Janice's educational journey began in her hometown of Anderson, Indiana, where she graduated from high school in 1969. Her pursuit of adventure and knowledge led her to Denver, Colorado, where she achieved her Juris Doctor degree, paving the way for a successful career in law. After working several years in oil and gas, Janice relocated to Boulder, Colorado, where she worked for the Solar Energy Institute under the Regan Administration. Her second career was supporting the family QSR business wherever her presence was needed.
Beyond her professional life, Janice was an avid runner who embraced her passion for fitness and the outdoors. While training to run a 5K at Flat Irons Athletic Club Janice met her future husband Dan Paneitz. On December 15, 1989, Janice married Dan in Boulder, Colorado, forging a partnership filled with love and mutual respect. For 20 years Janice continued to spend her leisure and social time at FAC where she made many lifelong friends.
Since retirement Janice and Dan’s favorite activities were boating, camping and enjoying the beauty of Lake Powell. Janice could often be seen along the shores of red rocks with a book in her hand engrossed in the worlds created by her favorite authors.
Later in life they settled in Skiatook, where they enjoyed the serenity of their surroundings and the company of a close-knit community. She also recently enjoyed staying current in politics often saying “Thank God for Donald J. Trump!”.
Janice is survived by her husband, Dan Paneitz, her beloved Houdini, who brought joy and companionship into her life, and a host of friends who cherished her warmth and vibrant spirit. She is preceded in death by her parents, Reynale and Frances Anderson, and her sister, Delores Fairman. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her dearly.
As we remember Janice Anderson, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by dedication, compassion, and a zest for life. Her legacy will endure in the lives she touched and the impact she made within her community and beyond.
