Jeffrey Delray Jones, known to many affectionately as Jeff, was born on July 16, 1965, in Inglewood, California to Charles David and Helen Louise (Scottsdale) Jones. He passed away on May 28, 2025, in Sperry, Oklahoma, leaving behind a legacy marked by his dedication to family, community, and the passions that defined his life.
As a proud graduate of Skiatook High School in 1985, Jeff cultivated strong roots in the community he loved. Jeff married the love of his life Linda May Beard on June 3, 1988, in Sperry where they have lived since that time. He became a beloved figure in Sperry as the owner and operator of Bird Creek Taxidermy, a business he proudly owned since 2009. Through his work, Jeff combined his artistic talents with his love for the outdoors, creating lasting memories for fellow hunters and nature enthusiasts.
Jeff's fondness for the great outdoors was further reflected in his hobbies. He loved fishing, hunting, and camping, activities that he cherished deeply and often shared with his family and friends. His adventurous spirit and zest for life endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Linda, and their three children: Sara Marie Williams and husband Ryan of Sperry, OK, Casey Capehart and husband Chase of Kiefer, OK, and Charles Delray Jones of Tulsa, OK. He was also the cherished brother of three sisters, Cheryl Gaddy, Dana Tindell, and Debra Phillips. Jeff took immense pride in being a grandfather to eleven beloved grandchildren. Jeff was looking forward to meeting his first great grandson that is coming in September, and he held dear the relationships he nurtured with numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Helen Jones; his brother, Charles David Jones II; and his son, Billy Matthew Roberts. Their memory will forever be a part of Jeff's enduring legacy.
