James (Jim) Lee Marrs, 75, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026 after a short illness from cancer. He was born in Tulsa on September 9, 1950 to James Edward Marrs and Wanda Christine Crawford of Skiatook.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Melissa Willis and granddaughters, Izabel and Landry Willis, brother, Joe Marrs, and ex-wives Cheryl Marrs and Sharon Moore. In addition to his immediate family, he shared a special bond with Ryan, Matthew, Annie and Andrew Medico, John Robb, Jake and Corynne Medico, and Michael and Jason Short, all of whom called him Pops.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. Marrs and Wanda Christine Crawford, brothers Steve Marrs, Gordon and Tom Key, sisters Sharon Berryman and Louisa Bilyeu.
Jim graduated from Skiatook High School in 1968, briefly attended Northeastern Oklahoma State University, then settled in Tulsa where he remained the majority of his life. Jim worked at Crane Carrier steel plant for over 20 years, then was involved in the creation of TASC, a facility management company. Jim was the assistant coach for his daughter Melissa’s fastpitch softball team, The Tulsa Blazers, from third through twelfth grades. Under his guidance, the team achieved multiple Top 10 and Top 20 finishes, with every player proudly receiving a college offer. As an avid race fan, Jim was a Top 10 Driver at the Tulsa Speedway, known for the high-performance Camaro engines he built by hand. In recent years, Jim’s favorite place to be was in the stands, where he was a constant, cheering fixture at his granddaughters’ softball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, and track meets.
