John Paul Carns Jr., a beloved LPN with over 20 years of dedicated service at Cleveland Nursing Home, passed away on July 31, 2025, in Skiatook, Oklahoma. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on November 6, 1958, to John Paul Carns Sr. and Florence Betty (Owens) Carns, J.P. grew up in Hominy, where he received his education and graduated from Hominy High School in 1977. He subsequently attended nursing school in Drumright, Oklahoma, establishing a career that reflected his compassionate nature and commitment to caring for others.
Throughout his life, J.P. had a varied array of interests that brought joy not only to him but to those around him. He took great pleasure in playing cards, particularly poker, which became a favored pastime. Additionally, he enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles, losing himself in captivating stories through western films especially the classic movies of John Wayne and sharing drinks and moments of camaraderie with his beloved sons.
J.P. leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his surviving family members. He is survived by his children, John Carns and his wife Brittani, Josh Carns, and Hayden Carns and his fiancé Chloe Williams. He is also remembered fondly by his sister, Debbie Kenworthy, and his brother, Andrew Christopher Martin. His grandchildren, Zoey Carns, Kamdyn Carns, and Annabelle Carns, will carry forward the warmth and joy he instilled in their lives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Carns Sr. and Florence Carns, whose guidance laid the foundation for the man he became. J.P. will be missed deeply, fondly remembered by all who knew him for his kindness, humor, and steadfast dedication to his family and career.
