John Francis DeGarimore, age 84, of Vinita, Oklahoma, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 22, 2025, in Allen, Texas.

John was born on December 28, 1940, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Francis Harrison DeGarimore and Heloise Metoyer DeGarimore. He was raised in Vinita and graduated from Vinita Public Schools. He went on to attend Oklahoma State University, earning a degree in Banking and Finance. John proudly served in the Oklahoma National Guard for six years.

On May 25, 1962, John married the love of his life, Saundra Marie Hixon. ,in Skiatook, Oklahoma. His professional life was devoted to banking, where he served as president of several banks across various cities. After his retirement, John and Saundra settled in Holiday Island, Arkansas, where they enjoyed their later years together.

John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Saundra; his parents, Francis and Heloise; and his brother, Robert.

He is survived by his daughters, Michele and Cheryl; son-in-law, Gordon Hockett; 2 grandsons and 3 additional great-grandchildren, his sister-in-law, Sharon DeGarimore ; 5 children , and 2 additional grandchildren and 2 additional great great grandchildren.

His Sister in law - Bobbie and Jerry Crain and their 2 children and families.

John had a deep love for woodworking, often crafting beautiful furniture, and he enjoyed many relaxing days on the golf course.

He will be remembered for his devotion to family, his strong faith, and his generous spirit.
