Judy Darlene Nelson, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on June 4, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on May 31, 1957, to Clarence Samuel and Stella Elizabeth (Teague) Barnes in Tulsa, she spent her formative years in the city, receiving her education and graduating from Webster High School in 1975.

Judy dedicated much of her professional life to the retail industry before transitioning to a fulfilling career with Jenks Public Schools, where she worked in the accounting department. Her commitment to her work was paralleled only by her love for her family and friends.

On September 16, 1998, Judy married Roger Keith Nelson, embarking on a journey of partnership that brought joy and companionship to both of their lives. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home filled with laughter and love.

Judy was a woman of many interests. She delighted in collecting various treasures, honed her skills in bargain hunting, and expressed her creativity through sewing and cooking. A fervent writer, she enjoyed crafting poems that reflected her thoughts and emotions. Above all, Judy cherished her connections with people, always striving to make new friends and nurture the bonds with her family.

Her legacy continues through her husband, Roger Nelson, and her daughter: Brandi Myers-Porter and her husband favorite son-in-law Kerry Porter, and son: Mike Myers. She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Ashley Nelson, niece: Stacey Ritchey and husband Steve, best friend of 60 years Brenda Parsons and husband Andy, and her sister, Ellen Foster. The joy of Judy's life is evident in the love of her grandchildren: Sydnee, Colin and wife Makaylah, Remington, Zane, Jacob, Logan, Kaitlyn, and great-grandchild: Jiraiya, along with several nephews, and a host of other relatives.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Samuel Barnes and Stella Elizabeth (Teague) Johnson, as well as her brother, Allen Barnes, and sister, Virginia Elliott. While the void left by her passing is profound, Judy Darlene Nelson will always be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her kindness, and the countless memories she created with those she loved.
