Larry Joe Hunter, a dedicated and beloved member of his community, passed away on July 15, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on June 24, 1937, in Everett, Washington to Donald Burton and Carol Elizabeth (Hoerner), but his journey took him to Wichita, Kansas, where he spent his formative years and graduated in 1955 from Rose Hill High School.

Larry's professional life was marked by his 21 years of service as a Senior Technician for Williams Pipeline Company. His commitment to his work and his colleagues was a testament to his strong work ethic and character. Larry was a member of the First Baptist Church of Skiatook.

In 1957, Larry answered the call to serve his country by entering the United States Navy. He proudly served until his honorable discharge in 1961, embodying the values of duty and honor that are hallmarks of service members.

Larry leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory. He is survived by his devoted wife, Shirlene Hunter, and their daughter, Susie Hunter and daughter-in-law, Tressa Hunter. The warmth of his legacy extends to his four grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, reflecting a life rich in family and love. Larry also had two stepchildren, Kelle Actkinson and Kevin Actkinson, along with a host of other relatives and friends, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

Though he is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Carol Hunter, a sister, Donna Hunter, and his son, Steven Douglas Hunter, Larry's spirit and influence will live on through the memories and stories cherished by those who knew him.

Larry Joe Hunter will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering support of his family. His life, though too brief, was filled with purpose and love, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
