Lawana Faye Wilson, born on September 7, 1953, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, passed away on January 14, 2026, in Skiatook, Oklahoma. She lived a life characterized by warmth, kindness, and a deep commitment to her community.
Growing up in Ardmore, Lawana received her education, forming the foundation of a lifelong pursuit of knowledge. Her passion for learning was evident in her dedication to visiting the library, where she found joy in exploring new ideas and stories. Lawana's love of church held a special place in her heart, and she found solace and community at Skiatook Freewill Baptist Church, where she nurtured her faith and built lasting relationships.
Her warm and caring nature drew people to her; she relished the moments spent connecting with friends and helping them in any way possible. Whether through a listening ear or a helping hand, Lawana always made time for those she loved.
Lawana is survived by her devoted sister, Yvonna Kay Henderson; her brother, Johnsey Wisdom; her beloved aunt, Bernice Dredfulwater; and her cherished best friend, Monica Buck. In addition, she is remembered fondly by several nieces and nephews, along with a host of other relatives and friends whose lives she touched with her generosity and spirit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Wilson and Mary Agnes (Sackey) Wilson, as well as her brother, and Beman Wisdom.
Lawana's legacy of compassion and connection will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the lives she influenced throughout her remarkable journey.
