Funeral services for Lodema Miller were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday June 29, 2012 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Chris Gabriel, officiating. Interment followed in the Ethel Reece Cemetery in Barnsdall under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Lodema Miller, age 87 of Skiatook, died at 8:20 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.
Lodema was born June 11, 1925 in , Oklahoma to James Delbert and Cordelia Elizabeth Jane (Woods) Downing. She grew up and received her education in the Walker School. Lodema married Albert Miller on October 25, 1941 in Jay, Oklahoma and they made their home in Jay, Pawhuska and Barnsdall before retiring in Skiatook in September of 1983. Lodema was a homemaker of the home, Lodema enjoyed sewing and quilting blankets for her family. Lodema loved going to church when she was able and spending time with her family.
Lodema was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband; Albert, sonn Jerry, two brothers; Charley and Bill and by one sister; Cordelia.
Lodema is survived by her children; Shirley Hicks of Bartlesville, Ron Miller of Broken Arrow, Jim Miller of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Donna Main of Pawhuska, Rita McCune of Skiatook and Janice Henshaw of Owasso, one brother; Austin Downing of Clovis, New Mexico, twenty two grandchildren, thirty seven great grandchildren and one on the way and five great- great grandchildren and two on the way, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music for the services was;
Casket escorts for the services were; Jason Miller, Kenny Hicks, Mike Hicks, Stephen McCune, David Hicks, Albert Hicks and Koty Pahukoa.
Funeral services and interment was under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
