It is with deep respect and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Lonny Dee Bearden Sr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and proud veteran. Born on September 4, 1951, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lonny departed this life on May 19, 2026, in Tulsa.

Lonny’s journey began in Tulsa where he grew up and received his education. He graduated from McClain High School in 1969, laying the foundation for a life marked by service and dedication. Following high school, he pursued higher education and earned an associate’s degree, demonstrating his commitment to growth and learning. He answered the call to serve his country with honor as a member of the United States Marine Corps from 1970 to 1974.

His military service was a testament to his courage and sense of duty. In his professional life, Lonny was employed in the oilfields for Spess Drilling in Cleveland, Oklahoma, contributing to an industry vital to the region. He later was a lineman for VVEC, where he applied his skills and work ethic with great dedication. Beyond his career, Lonny found joy and fulfillment in the outdoors and agricultural pursuits. He delighted in hunting, fishing, and farming—activities that reflected his connection to nature and his hands-on approach to life.

Lonny is survived by his loving wife, Roseanne “Chris” Bearden, who stood by his side as a steadfast partner. Together they raised children who carry forward his legacy: Terry Lynn (Bearden) Buffington, Lonny Bearden Jr. and Jimmy Bearden. His legacy extends warmly to his grandchildren, including Jimmy Hansen, Stephanie Jenkins, Jeremy Hansen, Lonny Bearden III, Brittany Bearden, Ashlynn Bearden, Wyatt Bearden, Tasten Wright, Aspen Wright, Andy Green, Kyle Hare, Heather Tulsa, and Amber Bearden. He was also a cherished great-grandfather to numerous great-grandchildren, and his life touched several nieces, nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and friends who will remember him fondly.

Lonny was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Earnest Bearden and Bertie Louise Bearden, who nurtured his early years; his grandmother, Ruby Keys; his brothers Terry Bearden and Jimmy Bearden; his daughter, Terry Lynn Buffington; and his granddaughter, Brook Hansen, all of whom he holds in everlasting memory.

The family invites those who knew and loved Lonny to join them in paying tribute to his life and legacy at the upcoming services. Visitation with family will be held on May 25, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Sien - Shelton Funeral Home, located at 1000 S Lombard Ln, Skiatook, Oklahoma.
