Funeral services for Mary Lou Cooper will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Nielsen and Bill Bowman, officiating. Interment will followed in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

Mary Lou Cooper, age 86, of Skiatook, died at 7:45 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2013 at her Skiatook residence.

Mary was born March 7, 1926 in Neodesha, Kansas to Virgil Ray and Ollie (Davis) Maxwell. Mary grew up and received her education in Neodesha, Kansas and completed her education in Avant where she graduated in 1943. Mary married Wilburn Winford Cooper on May 8, 1943 in Bartlesville and they made their home on a farm North of Skiatook and moved to town in 1955 where they have made their home since that time. Mary was employed with Greenwoods for twenty years and was also employed with the Exchange Bank in Skiatook in 1977 and retired in 2005. Mary liked cooking, cleaning and sewing. Mary was a member of the Eastern Star and the Methodist Church.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother and father, one sister, two half sisters, one half brother and by one son-in-law.

Mary is survived by her husband; Wilburn Cooper of the home, three daughters; Pat Lorton of Skiatook, Carol Downs of Owasso and Linda Cowan of Tulsa, four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, three great - great granddaughters, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Music for the services was: “Hallelujah Square” and “Beulah Land”. Music for the services was performed by; Scott Neighbors, Matt Neighbors, Morris Neighbors and Belinda Stevenson.

Casket escorts for the services were: Phil Tally, Jeff Lorton, Jay Lorton, James Breeding, A.B. Bayouth and Omar Bayouth. Honorary casket escorts were: Ronnie Hunt, Johnnie Bradford, Ron Beard, Scott Pease, Bill Jackson and Bobby Cowan.
