Michael Dean Crook Sr.

Michael Dean Crook Sr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on December 16, 2025, in Skiatook, Oklahoma. He was born on July 11, 1952, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Gilbert Monroe and Ruby Jo Crook where he was raised and received his education, culminating in his graduation with the Class of 1970.

In 1970, Michael began his commendable service in the United States Navy, where he devoted himself to his country until his honorable discharge in 1974. Upon his return, he embarked on a fulfilling career as a jet engine machinist at Tinker Air Force Base, showcasing both his dedication and expertise in the field.

On June 30, 1973, Michael married the love of his life, Shelley Marsala, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Their union flourished as they built a life together, primarily residing in Shawnee, Oklahoma, before making the move to Skiatook in 2013. Michael’s family meant the world to him, and he took great pride in raising their four children: Michael Crook Jr. and his wife Amber, Thomas Crook and his wife Kristy, Timothy Crook and his wife Amber, and Deanna Roegner and her husband Tristan. Together, they brought joy to his life, along with their 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Michael had a passion for collecting old cars and guns, as well as repairing clocks. He found tranquility in nature through camping and cherished the moments spent with his family and friends. His warm spirit and generous heart left an indelible mark on the lives of many.

Michael is preceded in death by his loving parents, Gilbert Crook and Ruby Pierce. He is survived by his devoted wife, Shelley, and his beloved children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends who will always remember him fondly. Michael Dean Crook Sr. will be greatly missed, yet his legacy of love and service will continue to inspire all who were privileged to know him.
