Myrna Ann Ladwig

Myrna Ann (Young) Ladwig, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, in Skiatook, Oklahoma. She was 88 years old. Myrna was born on March 14, 1938, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, the cherished daughter of LeRoy Young and Florence Jane Miller.

Myrna's formative years were spent in Sapulpa, where she grew up surrounded by family and friends, forging memories that would last a lifetime. She attended Sapulpa Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1956 from Sapulpa High School. Always eager to learn and better herself, Myrna continued her education by attending beauty college and physical therapy tech school, ultimately earning an associate degree.

On September 6, 1957, Myrna married the love of her life, Gordon W. Ladwig, in her hometown of Sapulpa. Together, they built a loving and supportive home in Skiatook. Their partnership of nearly seven decades stood as a testament to enduring love and unwavering companionship.

Myrna's dedication extended beyond her family and into her professional life, where she devoted over 36 years to OOH/OSU Medical, working as a physical therapy technician. Her caring spirit, gentle touch, and professionalism earned her the respect and gratitude of colleagues and patients alike.

A woman of many interests and talents, Myrna found joy in crocheting, music, coloring, and word puzzles. Her skilled hands crafted countless cherished keepsakes for loved ones. She also believed deeply in serving her community and, through her active participation in the Veterans Lady's Auxiliary and American Legion, demonstrated true civic commitment. Myrna was honored to serve as state president of the Lady's Auxiliary in 1998 and 1999, embracing her leadership roles with passion and generosity.

Myrna's memory is lovingly held by her devoted husband, Gordon Ladwig; her daughter, Carla Ladwig; her son, Dewayne Ladwig and wife Diane; as well as her 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews, and a host of friends, whose lives she touched deeply with her kindness and wisdom.

She was preceded in death by her father, LeRoy Young, and her mother, Florence Jane Miller; her son, Gordon Ladwig Jr.; her daughter, Myrna Renee Smith; her brother, LeRoy Young; her sisters, Mary Jane McClure and Kathryn Gehrke; her grandchildren Johnny Jack Brown and Don Smith Jr.

Myrna Ann Ladwig leaves behind a legacy of unwavering love, steadfast faith, and service to both her family and community. She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
