O.L. "Bud" Ricketts

O.L. “Bud” Ricketts passed away on September 18, 2026, in Sperry, Oklahoma. He was born on September 11, 1942, to Lloyd Orville and Iva (Ingle) Ricketts in Topeka, Kansas.

Bud grew up in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, where he received his education and graduated from Pawhuska High School in 1960. He later attended college and earned an associate’s degree in accounting. He went on to build a career as an accountant in the oil and gas industry with Williams Company.

Bud also answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Air Force. On November 9, 1963, he married Georgianna Louise Pratt in Pawhuska. The couple made their home in Grand Forks, North Dakota, where Bud was stationed until 1970. They later lived in Bartlesville and Tulsa before moving to Skiatook in 1973.

Throughout his life, Bud was active in both his work and his community. He was a master mason and past master of Skiatook Masonic Lodge #416. He served on the Skiatook City Council, owned Boot And Saddle Repair Shop, and he serviced as treasurer for the Skiatook Softball Association for 12 years. He also enjoyed leather work and especially loved spending time with his family.

Bud is survived by his daughters, Joanna Martin and husband Shawn and Diana Faught and husband Mike. His family continued to be a source of great pride and joy in his life, including his granddaughter Katelyn Miller, his grandson Cole Martin, and his great-grandson Bowen Miller. Their lives stand as part of the lasting legacy he leaves behind.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Ricketts, and his mother, Iva Ricketts, five brothers, two sisters, and one grandchild.

Bud will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his years of service to his community, and the steady work ethic that shaped his life. His memory will be cherished by those who knew and loved him.
