Randy Dale Emery was born on April 20, 1956, in Claremore, Oklahoma to John Virgil and Iyla Vancora (Bickell) Emery, and passed away on October 16, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He lived a fulfilling life dedicated to both his family and his professional endeavors. Randy received his education in Claremore, graduating in 1975. He further demonstrated his commitment to service by joining the Oklahoma National Guard on December 7, 1974. Randy earned an honorable discharge on December 1, 1991.
Randy married Merriam "Dawn" Higginbotham Karnes on October 12, 1990. Over the years, Randy built a diverse career. He worked at Allied Signal for 18 years, which showcased his industrious spirit and dedication. Following this, he spent another 20 years as a truck driver. Working 14 years for Old Dominion Freight lines where he retired. His resilience and strong work ethic were hallmarks of his character.
Randy was a man with varied interests and hobbies that brought joy to his life. He had a passion for fixing things and enjoyed fishing, traveling to view lighthouses, playing dominoes, and working on puzzles. A history enthusiast, he devoted time to studying the Bible and was captivated by ships, horse racing, music, and movies. In addition, Randy was a member of Skiatook Church of the Nazarene. Above all, Randy cherished the moments spent with his family, his Love for his Savior Jesus Christ for whom both he was deeply devoted.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dawn, and their children: Michael and wife Melissa, Chris, Danial and wife Carly, and Jenifer and husband Raymond. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Jay. His life was enriched by his eight grandchildren: Edie, Clayton, Brigette, Jessica, Jade, Aaron, Olivia, and Nicolas. Nieces Peggy and Amy, as well as nephew Wild Bill, and a multitude of other nieces, nephews, and friends who remember him fondly. Randy also adored his sister-in-law Judy Quigg and brother-in-law and best friend Danny Quigg.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, John Emery and his mother Iyla Emery Garner and , beloved step-father, Russell Garner, sister Floretta, and brothers Johnny Wayne and Larry Gene. He also mourned the loss of his son, Robert.
Visitation with family will be held on October 19, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel in Skiatook, Oklahoma. A funeral service will take place the following day, October 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Church of the Nazarene, also in Skiatook.
Randy Dale Emery will be remembered for his warmth, steadfastness, and love for his family, leaving behind a legacy that will not be forgotten.
