Richard Graham Petricek Sr.

Richard Graham Petricek Sr., of Skiatook, Oklahoma, passed away on September 21, 2026, in Skiatook at the age of 92. He was born on July 22, 1934, in McAlester, Oklahoma to Frank Edward and Madeline Cyrille (Moore) Petricek.

Dick grew up in McAlester and received his education there, graduating from McAlester High School in 1952. After school, he joined the United States Army. He later continued his education and received an associate degree from Southeastern College in Oklahoma. He was an electrician and worked for McAlester Ammunition Plant for 32 years, a career that reflected his dedication, skill, and steady work ethic.

In addition to his work, Dick gave of himself to others as a volunteer with the High Hill Fire Department. He enjoyed using his ham radio, where he was known by the call sign WB5JJC. He also found happiness in fishing and camping, and he especially loved spending time with his grandkids, who brought him great pride and joy.

Dick is survived by his beloved wife, of 65 years, Carol Ann Petricek. He is also survived by his daughter, Yvette Marie Thompson, and her husband, Terry Wayne Thompson; his daughter-in-law, Callie Petricek; and his brother, Donnie Joe Petricek, and Donnie’s wife, Ann Lynn Petricek.

His memory will also be cherished by his grandchildren, Johnathan Eugene McElhany and his wife, Laura; Jared Anthony McElhany and his wife, Kayla; Chance Thompson and his wife, Abby; Brysun Artherton and his wife, Tera; and Jared Wall and his wife, Cassie. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren, Turner, Lucy, Dawson, Avery, Olivia, Finley, Ellie, Carson, Wyatt, Sawyer, and Ozzy, each of whom was part of the family circle he loved so deeply.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Edward Petricek, and his mother, Madeline Cyrille Petricek; by his brothers, Jack Frank Petricek and Bill Petricek; by his sons, Baby Boy Petricek; and Richard Graham Petricek Jr.; and by his grandson, Cody Lance Thompson.

Dick will be remembered for his years of faithful work, his service to his community, his enjoyment of the outdoors and ham radio, and most of all for the love he shared with his family. His life touched many, and his memory will remain a lasting blessing to those who knew and loved him.
