Ruth (Morgan) Parks

May 28, 1930 — January 16, 2018

Obit.  Ruth Caroline (Morgan) Parks

Ruth Caroline (Morgan) Parks was born on May 28, 1930 at home in the Skiatook Oklahoma area.  She passed away on January 16, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph Eugene and Ester Morgan, a child, Mary Kathleen Ward, a sister, Imogene Lassley, a brother, Frank Morgan, husband Earl Ward, husband Jack Parks and grandson Paul Wright.

Ruth led a very eventful life.  Her childhood years were spent during the Great Depression.  She and her family moved to California when she was six years old and did not return to Oklahoma until 1940.  While living in California she was among the first people to cross the Golden Gate Bridge in the rumble seat of an old car.

Prior to her marriage to Jack Parks, Ruth was a housewife and partner on a dairy farm in the Foyil, OK area with her first husband Earl Ward.  Later, she established a Currier service “Fetch and Carry” where she built up a thriving business until her final retirement in 1989.

Ruth was an artist who loved to paint, traveled extensively, and loved her children, grandchildren and life in general.

She is survived by her children Patrick Ward and his wife Rebecca, Mike Ward and his wife Vicki, and Debra Wright and her husband Gene, a brother and sister Jim Morgan and Judy Spurgeon, 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express gratitude to her niece Carolyn Landis and the Hospice caregivers who helped in so many ways to bring comfort to Ruth in her final days on this earth.
