Tommie Dewayne Stringfellow, born on October 28, 1946, in Wetumka, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away on May 20, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A dedicated and skilled individual, Tommie led a life marked by service, craftsmanship, and devotion to his family.
Tommie's formative years were spent in Tulsa, where he completed his education, proudly graduating from McClain in 1965. That same year, he answered the call to serve his country, being drafted into the United States Army. His honorable service continued until 1968, a testament to his commitment and integrity. On March 8, 1968 in Tulsa, Oklahoma Tommie married the love of his life Mary Lou Barnes making their home in Tulsa until moving to Skiatook in 1970.
Following his military service, Tommie pursued a career with American Airlines as a Mechanical Technician. His technical expertise and meticulous nature made him a valued member of the team, where he worked diligently to ensure the safety and functionality of aircraft machinery.
Beyond his professional life, Tommie was a man of varied interests. He found joy in fishing, the quiet concentration of repairing sewing machines, and the fascinating hobby of coin collecting. These pastimes reflected his patient spirit and appreciation for both nature and the intricate details of craftsmanship.
Tommie was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Arlie and Jewell Stringfellow; his cherished wife, Mary; as well as two brothers and two sisters. Their memories remain a cherished part of his enduring legacy.
He is survived by his two dear children, Danny Stringfellow and his wife Candis, and Gary Stringfellow and his wife Jennifer. His loving sister, Arlene Cartwright, also survives him. Additionally, Tommie leaves behind four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who will remember him with deep affection and respect.
To honor Tommie's life, a visitation with family will be held on May 26, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sien - Shelton Funeral Home located at 1000 S Lombard Lane in Skiatook, Oklahoma. Following this, a graveside service will take place on May 27, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM at the Osage Gardens Cemetery, 2254 W Rogers Boulevard in Skiatook.
Tommie Dewayne Stringfellow's life was one of meaningful work, loyal service, and treasured family ties. His memory will be held in the hearts of all who knew him, remembered for his gentle spirit and steadfast dedication.
