William Thomas Pruitt

William Thomas “Tom” Pruitt, affectionately known by family and friends as Tom Tom and Tommy, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was 68 years old.

Born on November 9, 1957, in Bakersfield, California, Tom eventually made his home and built his life in Oklahoma. He spent his formative years in Skiatook, where he received his education and graduated from Skiatook High School with the class of 1976. Those who knew Tom remember him as a dedicated individual with a strong work ethic, always willing to help anyone who needed it. He had a heart of gold and was such a patient man, qualities he carried with him throughout his life.

Tom’s career reflected his hardworking spirit and reliability. He worked for Acura Neon and also had a long-standing association with Stokely Advertising, where he was responsible for hanging billboards. Whether at work or at home, Tom approached each task with determination and pride.

Family was central to Tom’s life. Tom is survived by his loving and devoted life partner Christine Ann Kinkead, his daughter, Jessica Linn Prescott, and her husband, Jory, as well as his cherished grandson, James Thomas Prescott. He was a guiding force and friend to his stepchildren, Tyler Kinkead, Kaysley Kinkead, Allison Kinkead, Ashley Kinkead, Nathan Crouch, Kaslyn Riley. Tom’s presence brought unity to his blended family. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Beverly Pruitt, niece April Patterson and husband Mark, nephews Brian Pruitt, and Kenneth Joseph Pruitt, uncle and aunt Burl and Gloria Forbes, and cousin Everett Forbes and wife Sandy. His love and dedication were felt by all.

In remembering those who preceded Tom in passing, he is reunited with his father, Joe Sebern Pruitt; his mother, Lorene Elva Forbes Pruitt; and his brothers, Robert Roy Pruitt and Joe Junior Pruitt. Their memories remain treasured by those who loved them.

Beyond his career and familial roles, Tom enjoyed many simple pleasures that reflected his personality. He was an avid football fan, relished time spent doing yardwork, enjoyed grilling meals, and, above all, spending time with family.

Tom leaves behind a legacy of unwavering love, steadfast faith, and service to both his family and community. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
