Addyson Brae "Addy" Owen

Addyson Brae Owen went to be with her Lord and Savior at the Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Addy is survived by her mother: Kelly Owen and Bonus Dad: Dennis Soule, Father: Scott Owen, brother: Austin Owen, siblings: Ashley and Micah Parks, Kayli Soule, Brook Soule, nephew: Asa Parks, Grandparents: Jim and Judy Hill and Bob and Barbara Owen, Uncles and Aunts Scott and Monica Bein, Greg and Danielle Owen, Todd Owen, Jeff and Tracy Owen, numerous cousins and friends.

Addy was preceded by her great grandparents Jim and Wanda Hogsed, her beloved Great Uncle Ron Hogsed.

Addy was born December 29, 1992 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Addy was employed with Conoco Phillips in 2016 where she worked in the IT Department.

My sister, Addy, So Much to say about Her, but nothing will ever do her justice so I’ll start with this. My sister, Addy grew up in Skiatook and she had many interests and hobbies.. she was a cheerleader throughout her school years and Addy enjoyed all things outdoors~ whether fishing at the lake, hiking trails with friends or hunting with our dad, Scott.  After graduating high school in 2011, Addyson went to TU, where she joined sorority Theta, and she graduated in 2016 with a double bachelor’s in MIS and finance.

Through all the years of her life the center of her world was our mother Kelley, our dad Scott nana and papa, our stepdad Dennis and his girl and her brother, me or as she would say her bub. Addy met her match when she met Preston, truly the love of her life.  

Our family and friends will always remember the smile that would light up a room, the eyes that could carry a conversation without a word spoken, and a spirit stronger than any of us combined.  My sister was the soul you would meet and fall in love with, and you’d never forget her.  Truly one of a kind!

Addyson loved shopping, she loved all the best in designers, and she always dressed to the 9s and was well put together, from the Volvo to the red bottoms to say the least my sister was Boujee.

Addy was an advocate of organ donation and counseling with organ transplant recipients.  This was something close to her heart, and she was so passionate about it, as we all well know, organ donation gave us three more years with my sister.

Addy loved dogs, she was involved with PTSD dogs and always did anything and everything she could to give every dog a life they deserve. I think her fur babies would agree

Addy had the strongest of faith. She wholeheartedly knew that God had His hand on her life, and she prayed for Him to bring her through this and heal her.  And He did.   Through all the circumstances of her path, the worry, the celebrations, the anxieties and the uncertainties~ she continued to reassure all of her family and friends.  She told us that uncle Ron is coming for her, everything was OK, she would see us again, no tears and that she loved us all.

Strength, dedication and hard work were three traits that encapsulated the essence of my sister. With each obstacle she faced, she took the issue head on with a fierce energy that was a force to be reckoned with. Even though her health was declining, Addy found much pride in being a strong, independent woman. She was hell bent on taking on the world, and boy did she.

A true example and inspiration, my sisters story is not one that tells of her life with cystic fibrosis.  Addy gave CF hell.  CF was something Addyson had, but CF NEVER had her!  

We will all miss sweet, sassy, radiant Addy.

Addyson was a true blessing to me, she taught me what tough and strong truly meant. The biggest fighter I have ever met in this world. a part of me left this earth when my sister passed, but I wouldn’t trade the last 24 years for the world, my sister, my best friend. No one can hurt my sister again and no more suffering. Breathe easy, I will see you again, and I love you.

I’m gonna close with something Addy wrote in her blog, and it’s a quote Addy would want us to live by

“Life is a blessing. Death is inevitable.

We can’t control death, but we can control the life we live right now. Don’t waste it on simply going thru the motions.
