Allen Bruce Goodrich

            Allen Bruce Goodrich, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 6, 2021, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 71.

            Bruce was born on August 15, 1949, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to Walter Bruce and Faye (Vestal) Goodrich.  He grew up on a farm near Bray, Oklahoma, where he attended school until the end of his junior year, when his family moved to Seiling, Oklahoma.  He graduated from Seiling High School in 1967.  He went on to attend The University of Oklahoma, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1971.

            On October 14, 1972, Bruce married the love of his life, Judith Ann Schilde, in Fairview, Oklahoma.  They made their home in Fairview, where he worked for Koch Oil Company until 1979, when he accepted a job with Bigheart Pipe Line and the family made the move to Skiatook, Oklahoma.  He continued to work in the oil industry until his retirement in 2012.

            Bruce was an active member and deacon at First Baptist Church of Skiatook.

            Throughout his life, Bruce showed a love for music, particularly when it came to the music of the church.  Growing up, he served as the music leader at his church in Bray, accompanied by his mother on the piano.  In the early 1970s, he joined The Believers Quartet as the lead singer, and the group traveled to different churches throughout Oklahoma sharing the gospel through music.  He also was a faithful member of the adult choir at Immanuel Baptist Church in Skiatook and occasionally led the music when called upon to do so.

            He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Faye Goodrich, and one sister, JoAnn Skinner.

            He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judy, of the home; his two sons, Ryan, of Skiatook, and Gavin and his wife Lauren of Cedar Park, Texas; his three grandsons, Timothy Allen (Tag) of Collinsville, and Asher James and Joshua Daniel of Cedar Park, Texas; his granddaughter, Amara Faith of Cedar Park, Texas; his sister, Janice Rogers, of Naples, Florida; and a host of other relatives and friends.
