Bonnie Lloyd Obituary

Bonnie Jean (Hoffman) Lloyd

Bonnie Jean Lloyd, age 92 of Skiatook went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 19th, 2021.  She passed peacefully at home in the company of her loving family.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. Thursday at the Sien Shelton Funeral Home in Skiatook. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Community of Christ Church in Sperry with Charles Rowden presiding. Interment will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry under the direction of the Sien Shelton Funeral Home.

Bonnie was born January 7, 1929 in Sperry, Oklahoma to Otis and Pauline (Eaton) Hoffman. She grew up and received her education in Sperry and Burrton, Kansas where she graduated high school in 1947. She married her high school sweetheart Dean Allen Lloyd on March 25, 1950 in Bentonville, Arkansas. Bonnie knew that Dean was the one for her ever since the day he gave her a ride across Bird Creek on his bicycle handlebars.

Starting out their marriage together in a tiny “shotgun house” in Sperry did not appear to damper their love for each other as, before you knew it, they began raising their three sons: Jimmie Otis who they lovingly called “Jimbo”, Kenneth Dean who was their sidekick throughout their life until the very end and Randall Leland, the baby of the family.

In addition to Bonnie’s primary job of caring for Dean and her three sons, she also worked in Tulsa as a Cosmetologist in a few upscale hair salons. She later worked at various Dillard Department stores in Tulsa, in the Jewelry and Men’s Clothing departments, where she retired from in the early ‘80’s.

As the Matriarch of the family, Bonnie was the glue that kept the family together throughout the years and loved spending time with them.  For many years she hosted an extended family gathering every Christmas Eve (a tradition that she carried forward from her Grandmother in Sperry). In her later years she kept up with her family and friends through Facebook and video calls.

Bonnie also believed in honoring family that passed before her.  Every Memorial Day, she spent countless hours preparing decorations and placing them at her family’s graves in the Sperry Rest Haven Cemetery.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her mother and father, Pauline and Otis Hoffman, husband Dean and by infant brother Jimmie Otis Hoffman.

Bonnie is survived by three sons: Jimmie Otis Lloyd and wife Elizabeth, Kenneth Dean Lloyd and wife Sheri and Randall Leland Lloyd and wife Janet. Grandchildren: Heather (Lloyd) Harper, William Lloyd, Mackenzie (Lloyd) Rogers, Brian Lloyd, Katie Lloyd, Danny Lloyd, Jamie Lloyd and Jonathan Lloyd. Great grandchildren: Leighton Webster, Caleb Self, Jordan Lloyd, Matthew, Evan and Isabella Lloyd, Everett and Owen Rogers.

Pallbearers for the service are Brian Lloyd, William Lloyd, Danny Lloyd, Jonathan Lloyd, Caleb Self, Glen Rush and Leighton Webster.
