 Funeral services for Cherry Kay Bankston will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the Skiatook First Baptist Church with Pastor Sherman Jaquess officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

 Cherry Bankston, age 63, of Avant, passed away Monday, April 29, 2019 at her Avant residence.

 Cherry was born September 19, 1955 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to William Rudolph and Betty Jean (Sains) Allen. Cherry grew up in Avant and received her education in Barnsdall where she graduated with the Class of 1973. She married Gary Lee Bankston in 1973 in Avant. After his death, she later married Emery Keith Martin in August of 2001 in Avant. Cherry was employed with the department of correction for 23 years before retiring in 2014. She enjoyed family reunions, camping, and OU football. She also loved spending time with her kids and grandkids and going to their sporting events. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Avant.

Cherry was preceded in death by her father and husband: Gary Bankston.

 Cherry is survived by her husband: Emery Keith Martin, her children Gary Lee Bankston Jr. and wife Staci, Christy White and husband Brad, Valerie Douthit and husband David, and Stacy Mead and husband Zach, brothers: Charlie Allen, Ricky Allen, David Allen, sisters: Debbie Firkus, Lori Kiley, and twin sister: Cheryl Smith, grandchildren: Lane White, Bay-Lee Perigo, Peyton Bankston, Hunter Perigo, Gunner Bankston, Carson Dildine, Jace White, Shane Douthit, Ella Dildine, Addy Douthit, Dylan Mead, great grandchild: Becham Perigo, and a host of other relatives and friends. 

 The family of Cherry Bankston have entrusted her care and services to the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
