Clifford Smith Obituary

Clifford Marion Smith passed away on April 21, 2023 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years old. He was born October 13, 1942 in Hardtner, Kansas to Alan and Iva (Webb) Smith.

He grew up attending school in Wichita, Kansas until the age of 17 when he joined the U.S. Army. He proudly served our country for 3 years and was stationed in Germany. While there he met a life long friend, Frank Smith, who introduced him to the love of his life, Judy. Clifford married Judy (Smith) Smith of Skiatook in 1964 and they lived in Wichita for 2 years. They moved  to Skiatook in 1966 where they raised their two daughters, Debbie and Kim.

He was employed at Boeing in Wichita and after moving to Skiatook he went to work for McDonnell Douglas for 16 years as a machinist. He then went to work at Tulsa Community College for 21 years as a fantastic teacher and retired in 2002.

Clifford loved working with his hands whether it be woodworking, making his own cannons and muzzle loading guns or piddling in his garage for hours at a time. He made each of his grandkids a wagon and a cool bank and poured so much love in each of those projects.  He was a member of the Tulsa Muzzleloading Gun Club for many years and enjoyed competing in their weekend rendezvous where he won too many competitions to mention.

Clifford was preceded in death by his mother and father, Iva and Alan, and six siblings.

Clifford is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Judy. Daughters, Debbie Bennett and husband, Jeff of Owasso and Kimberly Wiley of Skiatook.

His Grandchildren are

Darion Craig and wife Priscilla of Owasso, Melisa Craig of Skiatook, Ryan Craig of California, Tyler Smith and wife Jillian of Sand Springs.

He absolutely adored his 5 great grandkids also..Blaize Craig, Callum Craig, Phoenix Hunt, Connor Craig and Isaiah Smith. He’s also survived by so many nieces and nephews that held a special place in his heart. He truly loved his family.
