Ferne Lenora (Grant) Rollins, age 89, of Glenpool went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, November 6, 2023 in Glenpool.
Ferne was born June 27, 1934 in Prospect, Kansas to Jack and Flora (Myers) Grant. Ferne grew up and received her education in Kansas. Ferne married Will Rogers in 1952 and to this union two children were born; Richard Rogers and Margi Rogers. Later in 1959 Ferne married Howard Neighbors and to this union two children were born; Nancy Neighbors and Susan Neighbors. Ferne went to college and received her Nursing Degree. Fern was employed where she was a Registered Nurse working with the Skiatook Nursing Home, Tulsa Regional Medical Center, and also worked as an Agency Nurse. Ferne loved to work in her yard gardening, fishing, crocheting and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed chickens and roosters. Ferne was of the Baptist Faith. Ferne was always kidding around and use to always say; “You Want Me To Poke You In The Nose” and “I’m Going To Smack You One”. Ferne will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Ferne was preceded in death by her parents; Jack and Flora Grant, one brother, three sisters and by one grandson; Mitchell Manser.
Ferne is survived by her four children; Richard Rogers, Margi Puls, Nancy Manser and Susan Cain, ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren with a sixteenth great-grandbaby coming in December, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music for the services will be; “Amazing Grace”, “What A Friend We Have IN Jesus” and “Moon River”.
Pallbearers for the services will be; Mike Cain, Michael Dean Cain, Stephen Cain, Jonathon Cain, andBenjamin Cain.
The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the Glenwood Skilled Nursing Home in Glenpool and to Good Shepherd Hospice for taking such excellent care of Ferne.
The family of Ferne Rollins entrusted her care and services to the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
