Funeral services for Gussie Marshall will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 28, 2020 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Monte Lovvorn officiating. Private family interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Gussie Helen Marshall, age 95, of Skiatook went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, May 25, 2020 at her Skiatook residence.
Gussie, one of nine children was born February 20, 1925 in Limestone, Arkansas to John R. and Susie R. (Roberson) Pruitt. Gussie grew up and received her education in Council Hill, Oklahoma where she graduated from the Council Hill High School in 1944. Gussie went to the Northeastern State University in Tahlequah where she received her Bachelors Degree, Masters Degree, Administrators Certificate and a Counseling Certificate. Gussie married Charles K. Marshall on March 17, 1950 in Burbank, Oklahoma. Gussie was employed with Burbank Public Schools where she was a teacher for one year 1944-1945. Gussie was employed with Gray Horse for ten years and then Skiatook Public Schools where she was a teacher, Administrator and Councilor from 1963 until her retirement in 1987. Gussie touched many lives during her career. Gussie always worried and cared about the children at school and her family. Gussie like quilting, bowling, fishing and working wordsearch and crossword puzzles. Gussie will be missed by all who knew her.
Gussie was preceded in death by her mother and father; John and Susie Pruitt, husband; Charles K. Marshall, son; Kenny W. “Frog” Marshall and by eight brothers and sisters.
Gussie is survived by her son; Billy Marshall, six grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers for the services will be; James Prather, Randy Thompson, Travis Marshall, Josh Marshall, Kenneth Marshall and Rick Cannon.
Music for the services will be; “Amazing Grace” and “Go Rest High On That Mountain”.
The family of Gussie Helen Marshall entrusted her care and services to the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
