James "Butch" Bodley Obituary

“ Butch “ James Lee Bodley

James “ Butch” Bodley was born July 21,1942 in Tulsa Oklahoma to Leith & Kathryn Bodley of Claremore and stepped into eternity on January 20, 2021 at the age of 78.

Butch grew up on the farm in Claremore with his siblings Pat, Ginny and Linda. He went to school at Claremore Sequoyah and after finishing school he joined the Army at the age of 18 and was stationed in Germany and France during his service.

Butch learned to work on cars when he was a teenager. He worked for Ford Motor after serving in the Army and later ran his own Automotive shop in the 70’s. He went to work for Bow Pipeline in the early 80’s which was later bought by Koch Oil.  After being transferred to Midland Texas in the early 90’s he decided he would start his own HVAC business which he had wanted to do for a long time and did it until his last day.

You never saw Butch without a smile on his face.

Acquiring material things and wealth were never appealing to Butch. His great joy in life was helping people by fixing things and Butch could fix anything but a broken heart.
