Jean Ridenour, age 77, of Skiatook, OK went home to her Lord and Savior Thursday, July 4, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.

Jean was born September 11, 1941 in Turley, OK to Loyd George and Margaret Elizabeth (Williams) McDonald. Jean attended Cherokee School in Turley and completed her education at Sperry High School as part of the graduating class of 1959. At the age of 15 she met the love of her life, Bob Ridenour. They were united in marriage on April 24, 1959 at Golden Hills Baptist Church in Turley and later made their home in Skiatook, OK. To this union they added four children; Jerry, Mickey, Lisa, and Yvette, making them the “Ridenour 6”. Jean’s most cherished job was that of a homemaker, but she also was a Teacher’s Aide at Skiatook Public Schools, a Teller at RCB bank, and a Checker at Wal-Mart. Jean loved working with ceramics, sewing, bowling, playing cards and dominos, and watching her kids and grandkids play sports. It needs to be mentioned that Jean was also an avid sports fan who followed the Texas Rangers, Oklahoma Thunder, Detroit Pistons, and all OU and OSU athletics, and rarely missed watching them on TV. Most of all, Jean loved her family and spending time with them. It has been said that Jean could light up the room with her smile. Jean loved her Lord and Savior and loved her church family where she was a member of Skiatook First Assembly of God Church.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; Loyd and Elizabeth McDonald, brother; Sonny McDonald, two sisters; Pat Juby and Sandra Evans, and one great grandson; Kyler Fack.

Jean is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Bob Ridenour, four children; Jerry Bob Ridenour Jr. and wife Susan, Michael Earl “Mickey” Ridenour, Lisa Michele Stovall and husband Ray, and Yvette DeAn Weller and husband Wade, two sisters; Jerry Martin and Patsy Rogers, eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren with one on the way, several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends, including their “other daughter,” Helen Reddell.

Pallbearers are grandsons; Jeremy Ridenour, Dugan Ridenour, Ray Stovall Jr., Ross Stovall, Reed Stovall, Jake Weller, and Max Weller. Honorary pallbearers are granddaughters; Kameron Bowline, Sami Jo Wagnon, Amelia Ridenour, and Michele Ridenour.
