Funeral services for Kevin Wesley Johnston will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2019 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Butler, officiating. Private family interment to be held.

Kevin Wesley Johnston, age 47, of Stigler, passed away January 4, 2019 in Tulsa.

Kevin was born July 2, 1971 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to John Wesley and Joyce Marie (Swanson) Johnston. Kevin grew up and received his education in Oklahoma City and Midwest City, Oklahoma. Kevin entered into the United States Army in 1988 where he was a medic stationed in Hawaii and received his honorable discharge in 1991. Kevin worked as a paramedic once he came out of the service in areas of North, South and Central Western Oklahoma. Kevin met Angela Denise Cox in 2004 becoming best friends and moved in together in 2009 and they married December 26, 2016 in Stigler where they have made their home. Kevin also attended Rose State Community College where he received his associates degree. Kevin got into the sleep medicine field in Oklahoma City in 2002. Kevin was employed with McAlester Regional Hospital where he was a Registered Sleep Technologist for the past 10 years where he was the director of the Sleep Lab 6 months ago. Kevin was the kind of guy everyone loved or hated. He was the totally the alpha even if he didn’t want to be. Kevin had a presence that just took over a room. Kevin liked camping, Marshal Arts he loved the action and the sparring, he loved throwing knives, he loved throwing, throwing stars, throwing hatchets, throwing spears knives, shooting guns, and also liked to sew. Kevin liked to have a good time and was a very hard worker and he played hard. Kevin would even setup stuff in the house to throw or use the blow dart gun. Kevin loved having a wood fire going and would set by it all night sometimes. He loved being in the hot tub with the wood fire burning even setting out there with icicles on his hair. Most of all Kevin loved being a dad. He loved to teach his kids to cook, fight, love and everything in between.

Kevin is survived by his wife: Angela, children: Evaric Johnston and wife: Jackie, Devin Johnston, Jacody Cox, honorary son: Cody Loudermilk, honorary step daughter: Tetra Billie, his mom and dad: John and Joyce Johnston, brother: Sean Johnston and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family of Kevin Johnston entrusted his care and services to the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
