Lloyd Richard Hicks
Lloyd Richard Hicks, age 90, of Skiatook went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, April 25, 2021 in Tulsa.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel in Skiatook C.H. Whiteman, officiating with Bill Teel Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Lloyd was born December 18, 1930 in Skiatook, Oklahoma to Everett Lee and Ruby Emma (Lauener) Hicks. Lloyd grew up and received his education in Skiatook and Sperry graduating from Sperry High School in 1950. After high school Lloyd served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952. On August 15, 1971 Lloyd married Martha Catherine Nettles in Sperry and they made their home in Skiatook. He was employed at Shepard’s Grocery Store, the Town of Sperry as a police officer and fireman, a school bus driver for Sperry Public Schools, Mcdonald Douglas, SAR Water for Skiatook, Avant, and Romona, he was an oilfield worker for ROJ Oil, he was a self-employed backhoe operator, and a road supervisor for Osage County District 2 where he retired from in 2001. After retirement he was a full-time rancher. He was a member of Remnant Church in Sperry. Lloyd enjoyed working cattle, quail hunting, and crappie fishing, along with seeing his family.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his father and mother Everett and Ruby and brother: Leonard Lee Hicks.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Martha of the home, children: John Teel and wife Debbie of Skiatook, Oklahoma, and Bill Teel and wife Mary of Keota, Oklahoma, five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be: J.W. Teel, Greg Osborne, Braden Bryant, Jon Jaspersen, James Ferguson, and Buck Rich.
The family of Lloyd Hicks entrusted his care and services to Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
