Monte Eugene Gondles, age 92, of Skiatook went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, September 11, 2019 in Tulsa.

Celebrating the Life of Monte Eugene Gondles will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 13, 2019 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Bill Bowman officiating. Full military rites will accord Mr. Gondles by the Gondles-Butler VFW Post 7977 and the Skiatook American Legion Post 131 where he was a Life Member.

Monte was born February 7, 1927 in Skiatook to Monte Eugene and Lilly Bell (Standridge) Gondles. Monte grew up and received his education in Skiatook where he graduated in 1945. Monte’s mother received his diploma for him because he had enlisted into the U.S. Navy in 1944 and received his honorable discharge on July 12, 1946. Monte married Mary Elizabeth Burden on December 4, 1954 in Tulsa making their home there until moving to Skiatook in 1968. Monte was employed with American Airlines from 1948-1960 where he held various positions from Accounting Clerk to Assistant to Manager of Credit and Collection (Air Travel Plan), 1960-1966 Oklahoma Credit Union League-Central Credit Union where he was Assistant Manager Central Credit Union, 1966-1974 McDonnell Douglas Tulsa Federal Credit Union where he was Manager, 1974-1990 Town of Skiatook where he was Town Administrator.

Monte was preceded in death by his mother and father Lilly and Monte Gondles and by five brothers.

Monte is survived by his wife of 65 years; Mary Gondles, two children; Monte Eugene Gondles III and Melissa Eaton, five grandchildren, one great grandchild, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
