Noel Carruthers

Noel Carruthers, age 73, of Sperry went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, December 3, 2021 in Tulsa.
Noel was born July 13, 1948 in Checotah, Oklahoma to Randell Ray and Vinita Elizabeth (McQuay) Carruthers. Noel grew up and received his education in Sperry where he graduated in 1967. Noel also attended North Eastern State University in Tahlequah.  Noel entered into the Army National Guard in 1968 and received his honorable discharge in 1974. Noel married Shanda Sue Carter on June 2, 1969 in Sperry where they made their home. Noel was self-employed. He owned and operated Carruthers Concrete and Construction Company. Noel was of the Baptist faith. Noel loved to go hunting, fishing, trapping and had a passion for gardening. Noel was known for raising tomatoes and had over 1000 plants this year alone! Granddaughter Abby often helped him sell them at his stand.  
Noel was preceded in death by his parents; Randell and Vinita Carruthers and by one brother; Otis W. Carruthers.
Noel is survived by his wife of 52 years Shanda, children; Ben Carruthers and wife Tina of Tulsa, Terry Carruthers and wife Misty of Skiatook, Janna Carruthers of Austin, Texas and Willie Carruthers of Skiatook, one brother; Rickey L. Carruthers of Sperry, three sisters; Janet L. Hodge and husband Allen of Olympia, Washington, Judy E. Bender and husband Ken of Owasso and Phyllis I. Stewart and husband Marvin of Tok, Alaska, sister-in-law and widow of Otis Carruthers, Suzie Carruthers of Sperry, four granddaughters ; Hannah, Emma, Abby and Paisley, four step-granddaughters; Sasha, Robbie, Alisha and Breeanna, fifteen great grandchildren and various nieces and nephews. 
The family of Noel Carruthers entrusted his care and services to the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
